Building update

March 2024

Kings Road Church is located in Kings Road, only 70 metres from the high street, and at the heart of Berkhamsted town centre. The existing building opened in 1874 as a place of worship for the Plymouth Brethren and was refurbished in 1969, where it served its congregation until 2010. The growth of the congregation and the condition of the existing structure meant that KRC services had to be relocated to Bridgewater Primary School. In 2023 the KRC leadership team proposed a rebuild, which would provide the opportunity to embrace a modern design, energy efficient features and a flexible space that could be used to benefit the local community.
